Skeletal System
Giraffes are the tallest creature know to man with reaching height of 19ft. What stands out the most to people about this animal is their neck. But it really has the same amount of bones as humans' necks! Their vertebrae are much larger. Where most of the length is in the body is the neck, with can weigh up to 600lbs.
As you can see in the picture they have a skull. This equipped with teeth for consuming leaves. Giraffes also have horns placed on top of their skull. Also in the diagram you can see that the have large bones in their neck, ribs, fore legs, hind legs, feet, heel bones, shoulder and hip joints, and wrist bones. The front pair of legs are slightly longer than their hind legs.
Muscular System
Giraffe's forelegs are longer than their hind legs is because of the heavy muscle on the base of their neck, or shoulders. Most of their muscle is found in their neck, which is fairly flexible to be able to reach water down low or plants up high. Another muscular adaptation is that their tongues were formed to extend up to 18 inches.
